This site uses no cookies and shows no consent popup, because it doesn't track you.

Visitor statistics

Page views are counted with GoatCounter, which stores nothing in your browser. I see totals such as pages visited, the country a visit came from, and the site that referred it. I can't see who you are or follow you between visits.

Upvotes

Reading a post stores nothing on your device. Your browser does fetch the vote count from Supabase when the upvote button comes into view.

If you click upvote, a random guest ID is created and kept in your browser's local storage, so that your vote counts once and you can take it back. The site stores that ID with the posts you voted on and the time of each vote. It isn't linked to your name or email, and I don't keep your IP address.

Click the button again to remove a vote. If you've cleared your browser data and want a vote removed, email me with the post and roughly when you voted.

Services that see your IP address

Your browser has to connect to the services that run this site, so they see your IP address to deliver it: GitHub Pages for the pages, and Supabase and GoatCounter for the features above. Supabase also uses it briefly to limit how fast guest IDs can be created. I don't receive it or store it.
